All Students at Kathford International College took part in a series of sporting activities during a ‘Sports Week’, organized to challenge them as the College’s sporting calendar reached its climax in May 29 to June 4.
‘Sports Week’ an annual event, to encourage participation and as part of our commitment to delivering extra curriculum activities across the College. The Sports week aims to provide loads of refreshment, the sport is also a necessary part as Academics for the students, it helps to refresh them physically as well as mentally. The games were very competitive and along the way some very surprising results were achieved.
The games were divided into two groups- indoor and outdoor. Indoor games include – Table Tennis, Chess, Badminton, Outdoor games include – Football, Volleyball, and Cricket. Venue decided separately according the nature of games. Army Physical Training and Sports Center, Lagankhel was booked for Football and volleyball, cricket pitch reserved at Laboratory school, Kirtipur, the Bulls Club Basketball Court Occupied and college premises used for indoor games.
The following day Students took on the role of sports leaders and organized games for the all students to play. It was a pleasure to watch the interaction between the students. As well as the sporting skills on show.
Not only did the Students all benefit from a lot of exercise and good fun; skills of teamwork, co-operation and nurture were also in evidence everywhere.
Football final was between BCT 1st year Vs Civil 1st Year ‘B’ and BCT 1st year team beat their opponent on tie breaker. And Cricket final was Civil 4th year ‘A’ Vs. Civil 1st year ‘B’ where Civil 4th year ‘A’ shows game skills and Capacity to win. For Volleyball, Civil 1st year ‘A’ and Civil 1st year ‘B’ fought for the final and Civil 1st Year ‘B’ grab the victory.
Indoor Games Table Tennis Boys side Beezan Khadka/Chandra Narayan Dhami vs. Aman Majhi/Shakti Subedi was competing on final round and the winner was Beezan Khadka/Chandra Narayan Dhami. And Table Tennis Girls side final game between Anu Gopali vs. Samikshya Hamal lastly Samikshya Hamal successfully takes 1st position.
Chess Boys side Ranjan Mishra become 1st and 2nd was Saroj Ale Magar. Chess Girls Side Laxmi Thapa and Garima subedi was 1st and 2nd respectively. And Badminton Girls side Winner is Oshika Shrestha, Laxmi Thapa get chance to become second.
Sports week Closing ceremony and Medals and Certificate Awarded by guests of honor, coordinator and respective teachers to Winners and Runner-ups.
